"Misspoken" - Tenacity

"Misspoken" disavows blind trust in humanity and argues that earned trust is far more practical.  The song acknowledges nature as callous and indiscriminate and that goodness is not innate but an accomplishment. 

 

The refrain instructs us not to despair but to continue the noble pursuit of goodness.  The overarching theme is not meant to be cynical but rather to credit those who ascend baser instincts.

 

The lyric video for "Misspoken" uses footage of fortifications and military cemeteries as evidence against  the erroneous assumption that people are basically good.
